Hotels, offices and the interchange strip
The cluster of hotels, office buildings and restaurants around the Route 83 interchange is Willowbrook's commercial heart, and it renovates constantly: hotel room refreshes, parking lot repaves, roof replacements and tenant buildouts in the office parks. A hotel renovation puts a unit at the service entrance or the back of the lot where guests will not see it, and the property manager sets the exact spot. Office park projects use the contractor corner of the lot. Service on all of these runs before eight, ahead of the commuter traffic that backs up the frontage roads.
Subdivisions, townhomes and the older ranches
West of the highway strip, Willowbrook is subdivisions: townhome and condo developments from the 1970s onward along 63rd Street, and older ranch blocks near Plainfield Road and Madison Street. Homeowner associations renting for a roof or siding project across an entire complex put two units at central spots on the private drives, moved as the crew works through the buildings. Individual ranch owners doing an addition set one unit on the driveway. New townhome phases still go up on the last open parcels, and those builders take a couple of standard units at the active end of the row.
The subdivisions are private-road communities in many cases, so placement is a matter for the association rather than village hall.
A rental walkthrough for a Willowbrook association
An association project here usually starts with the property manager calling about a roofing contract covering twenty or thirty buildings. We ask how the crew will move through the complex, suggest two standard units and a handwashing station, and place them at the first cluster of buildings on the private drive, out of the fire lane. As the roofers move, our driver relocates the units on the weekly service visit, so residents never have a unit outside their door for more than a couple of weeks. When the last building is done, the units come off on the final service day.
Village hall handles any placement on a public street, but most association drives are private and the association makes that call.
